Mentoring Program
Welcome to the Halton AVA (Association of Volunteer Administrators) Mentoring Program
Many of us, from time to time, would benefit from an extra opinion about any number of subjects that volunteer managers deal with on a regular basis. On the other hand, many people are asked to take on the responsibility of managing volunteers without adequate time and training to do the job well. This link has been designed to assist both the experienced manager and the manager new to the position, by providing one-on-one peer support and assistance on a number of topics.
Scroll down and you will find a list of topics that are most common within the job descriptions of volunteer managers. Under each topic you will find a list of people who have volunteered to assist anyone with a question or problem in that specific area. Using the contact info provided, you then just contact them! It’s as easy as that.
We are always on the lookout for people who are willing to volunteer their time and expertise to assist their peers. If anyone has a new topic that they would like to see added, please contact me (Sharon Bee), and we’ll get it added to the site and recruit members who are willing to share knowledge in that area.
We have a great wealth of knowledge in the Halton AVA. This is one way to share it! If you would like to mentor in any subject, please contact Sharon Bee at 905-845-6601, Ext. 3977 or at sbee@oakville.ca to add your name to our list of mentors.
